“It’s unusual for me to put a sculpture on such a prominent site. But part of the idea is that it starts off being very visible and over time becomes invisible as the forest grows around it. It’s not about creating a static object. It’s about describing the changes in this place. We’re always wanting to hold onto things as they are, but that’s not the nature of life or things, is it?”
